NCHSE is continuously promoting Socio-economic transformation of rural women through facilitation of formation of SHGs and their capacity building. This is a common feature of its all implementation projects related to watershed development, Livelihood Promotion, Agricultural Sustainability, specially focused projects for women empowerment, etc.
In partnership with NABARD it has implemented programme on empowerment of women in 4 blocks of Hoshangabad district namely Babai, Sohagpur, Piparia and Bankhedi of Madhya Pradesh during 2016-21. It has implemented another project on Digitisation of SHGs in Vidisha District under NABARD supported E-shakti project during 2017 - 19.
At present with support from ITC Limited and Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MPSRLM), it is implementing a dedicated “Financial Literacy Programme” since 2017-18, which now covers all 55 Districts of Madhya Pradesh. It aims to create an ‘enabling environment’ for sustaining good financial habits and practices within women SHGs and enhance the capability of human resource mainly the CRPs (Community Resource Persons).So far more than 30 lakh women have been trained in Financial Literacy Programme and use of customize financial act for connecting themselves with various schemes of the Government.
