NCHSE @ a Glance.....


  • Established in 1984 as a non government organization with Head Quarters in Bhopal; and initial focus on  research, evaluation and training ;Dedicated to works on two vital components of Nature the Man and the Environment; spread across in 7districts of Madhya Pradesh; ,
  • Implementing Programme and Projects supported by Government, National; International; organizations;
  • Specializes in watershed management, capacity building of various target groups, poverty alleviation activities through skill upgradation, self help group activities, and Evaluation and monitoring of various programmes. 
NCHSE’s Activities



  • Implementation of watershed development programmes, which started in the year 1994, is the key strength of NCHSE. NCHSE completed works in more than 30 Miliwatershed areas in 7 districts of Madhya Pradesh under Rajiv Gandhi Watershed Mission, CASA, CAPART, WFP, MGNREGS, IMP, IWMP,etc.   
  • Now the works have spread to the neighboring state of Rajasthan .
  • Currently 5 watershed projects are being implemented in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Research, Monitoring & Evaluation



NCHSE has actively carried out a number of (near about 150) monitoring and evaluation studies of developmental projects related to poverty alleviation, housing, rural roads, water supply, sanitation, electrification, urban basic services, public distribution system, watershed development, health services, etc.








Implements programme/projects related to Watershed development in partnership with Government, public and private sector agencies; and include empowerment of community organizations, self-help group formation, identification of income generating activities, skill development, linking of SHGs to credit, creation of revolving fund  etc.


The training wing of NCHSE has been active for the past 30 years and has successfully completed a sizable number of workshops and training programmes for NGO representatives, master trainers, middle level government programme functionaries, panchayat level functionaries, members of civil society, local people, women SHG members, user group members, etc.

GIS IT & ICT Centre



NCHSE boasts of a fully-fledged GIS centre at its Head Office in Bhopal and undertakes the work of fulfilling the GIS needs of the State. This Centre today is one of the most reputed GIS centre in India.

The Forty five days training programme on GIS Application & Operations conducted by NCHSE was concluded on 13th April 2016.

District Consumer Information Centre (DCIC)

DCIC (District Consumer Information Centre) was established in 2001. Initially it has supported by the Ministry of Food and Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India. Now NCHSE through its own initiative takes care of consumer grievances at large. This centre has also been recognized by TRAI as Consumer Advocacy Group (CAG) throughout Madhya Pradesh. & Chhatisgarh region.

TI Project
Targeted Intervention in urban areas of Ujjain district is being conducted by NCHSE since October, 2008 for prevention of Human immune Deficiency Virus/ Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDs) amongst female sex workers. Ujjain TI project is selected as a model T.I. in Madhya Pradesh
