works in the field of Natural Resource Management, Rural Development, Poverty Alleviation and scores of other Human and Environment related issues.

The  National Centre for Human Settlements and Environment, an NGO, is based at Bhopal, the capital city of Central Province of India - Madhya Pradesh.

Ever since its inception in 1984, NCHSE is dedicated to work on two vital components of Nature - the Environment and the Mankind. 

On the front of Natural Resource and Environment Management, NCHSE works through the interventions of Watershed management, Integrated Development of rural areas, Afforestation, etc. where in the activities of Research Studies, Evaluation, as well as, implementation are undertaken.

On the Human Settlements and Social development aspect, NCHSE carries out studies of evaluation and monitoring of various  government programmes and also involves in poverty alleviation activities through skill upgradation, self help group activities, etc.

It has been a strong character of NCHSE to employ, as well as evolve, modern technological applications, in the course of implementing these extremely field oriented works. NCHSE, thereby has succeeded in emerging as a powerful Mentor in this arena, especially relating to GIS.
